The 2008 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was the brand’s first show ever held in Miami. It took place at the newly renovated Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel, marking the hotel’s grand reopening with one of the most glamorous fashion events of the year. The show was recorded on November 15, 2008, and later broadcast on December 3, 2008, on CBS.

Heidi Klum hosted the event, joined by a lineup of Victoria’s Secret Angels and leading models. Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Karolína Kurková, Selita Ebanks, Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, and Heidi herself headlined the runway. Candice Swanepoel, still early in her Victoria’s Secret career, also walked in Miami, continuing her rise within the brand.
Adriana Lima had the honor of wearing the Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra, valued at $5 million. Designed by jeweler Martin Katz, the bra featured 3,575 black diamonds, 117 certified one-carat white diamonds, and 34 rubies, with two black diamond drops weighing 100 carats each. It was the centerpiece of the show and one of the most memorable Fantasy Bras in Victoria’s Secret history.
The production introduced changes to the runway setup. For the first time, the show was staged in a massive five-story tent erected on the Fontainebleau grounds. The runway was laid out parallel to the audience seating, offering a different viewing experience compared to previous years. The fashion themes reflected Miami’s energy, with tropical inspirations, Art Deco South Beach elements, and projected visuals of Greek and Caribbean motifs. Palms lit in white and LED screens added to the atmosphere.
Musical performances included Usher, who delivered hits like “What’s Your Name” and “Yeah!,” bringing star power to the event. Jorge Moreno also contributed to the show’s soundtrack.
Behati Prinsloo was introduced as the new Pink collection spokesmodel, replacing Miranda Kerr in that role, and Lindsay Ellingson debuted.
The finale was led by Marisa Miller and Maryna Linchuk, closing out a night that blended glamour, music, and spectacle.Broadcast to millions of viewers worldwide, the 2008 show cemented Victoria’s Secret’s reputation for combining high fashion with mainstream entertainment, and it marked the beginning of Miami’s short but iconic place in the brand’s show history.
